About GoLD

Creative design by qualified professionals Raising the standard of the garden and landscape profession

In response to the rapidly expanding profession of garden and landscape design, the Guild of Landscape Designers (GoLD) is a body of professional garden and landscape designers committed to excellence and quality.

Unlike some practicing garden and landscape designers, each member must attain the necessary degree in Garden Design or Landscape Architecture to achieve membership status. It is this minimum requirement of formal training which ensures registered members have been assessed and taught by other leading professionals.

Ensure you hire designers who believe in quality

By engaging a member of GoLD you are ensuring you are hiring a designer who has met the rigorous high standards required, a professional who has been trained as a designer to provide you with the high standards you would expect from any qualified, practicing professional.

Designers who are supported by the guild

Once a designer is a registered member of GoLD, he / she becomes part of a network of designers who are able to share information about reputable contractors, enabling their gardens to be built to high standards. Developments in the industry like information on new products can be shared within the group, enabling GoLD members to keep the quality of their work as creative and unique as possible.

Code of conduct

All registered members are bound by a code of conduct which they must adhere to at all times.

Contact a registered designer

To view the list of registered designers simply click here. Please note, it is the policy of the Guild that each designer is committed to providing a professional service and will also provide a FREE initial visit for local clients (typically within 30 miles of the designer) to discuss your requirements and explain their service in more detail. Whilst it should be remembered that different Guild designers offer a varied range of services, each designer will still offer to complete the first meeting free of charge.*

*For clients enquiring from further afield, (typically more than 30 miles) travelling expenses may be charged, subject to each individual designer's practice.
